Detroit Diesel HD Major Repair Sign Up

The Detroit Diesel DD15 Major Repair four day ILT course is designed to give students an understanding of the Heavy Duty engine platforms with an emphasis of major repair procedures. 

Prerequisites: Students are required to have previously attended the DD HD Engine Diagnostics class, along with the respective web based courses and exams prior to attending this class.

Material that will be covered in class includes the following:

• Discuss how and when to contact the Customer Support Center
• Demonstrate how to navigate the Tech Lit program
  
• Identify the serial number location and what each part of the number indicates
• Identify the air intake system flow
• Identify the cooling system flow
• Identify the oil system flow
• Understand the engine brake
• Understand the TC air system
• Understand the AT air system
• Understand the fuel module and high pressure pump
• Understand the cylinder head, injectors, and rocker assemblies
• Understand the camshaft and camshaft gear
• Understand geartrain timing
• Verify camshaft timing
• Understand the idler gears
• Understand the piston, connecting rod, and connecting rod bearing
• Understand the crankshaft and crankshaft gear
• Understand the EGR cooler
• Understand how to use special tools
• Perform a tune up
