2003 - Kosair Children's Hospital

Kosair Children's Hospital i.e. Kosair Charities, located in Louisville, KY, was the recipient of the 2003 Clarke Detroit Diesel-Allison charitable contribution. Kosair informed Clarke that the gift will be used to purchase new wheelchairs for the children.

On October 8th Mark Andreae, Tony Bond, Joe Lovo, Steve Tolliver, Malcolm Wyatt and Butch Gaddie presented the check to Mrs. Jo Barrett and J. Scott Judy—Director of Development. Both Mrs. Barrett and Mr. Judy were very appreciable for the gift and said that this gift will help Protect the “Most Precious Gift of All” - Children. Kosair helps children throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Donations support the Kosair Children’s Hospital pediatrics; Kosair also lends support to the Home of the Innocents through Kosair Pediatric Convalescent Center and works with the University of Louisville and Frazier Rehab Institute that helps children with conditions that include hemophilia, spinal bifida and cerebral palsy. Kosair receives no support from government agencies, The United Way or WHAS Crusade for Children. A special note that 81% of gifts are used to support child care.

Thank You

Dear Tony,

Again it was nice talking with you on the phone. And thanks to all of you for the wonderful gift.

In assuring that no child will go without medical care they need even if the family cannot afford it, Kosair Charities appreciates your gift. We plan to use your gift for the purchase of wheelchairs. These will be used for children who may just need one for a short period of time or even longer if necessary.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Please call me if you need any further information.

Jo Barrett, Director of Programs
