In 2008 Clarke Power Services, Inc. chose the Ronald McDonald House of greater Cincinnati for their annual charitable contribution. The Ronald McDonald House provides a “home away from home” for families and their children who are receiving medical treatment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, regardless of their ability to pay. Last year this house served over 1,100 families. They serve all ages, socioeconomic levels, races and nationalities, welcoming all families who need a warm, caring environment in which to rest. The cost of housing a family for one night is $79. Each family is asked to donate $20 per night to stay, but most families are able to donate $10 or less. No one is ever turned away due to an inability to pay, however, 825 families were turned away last year due to a lack of space.
The Ronald McDonald House of greater Cincinnati is embarking on a number of upgrades to increase their ability to serve those in need. They are in the middle of a 30 room expansion which will allow 500 additional families to stay per year. In addition to this expansion of guest rooms, they are building a new playroom. The funds that Clarke Power Services donated on behalf of all employees has gone towards furnishing the playroom. In addition, there will be a plaque inside the playroom that reads, “Playroom furniture and toys generously donated by Clarke Power Services and Clarke Fire Protection Products, Inc.”

Dear Clarke employees,
Thank you and all our dear friends at Clarke Fire Protection and Clarke Power Services for making our west wing playroom one of the most enjoyed corners of the House. We were all so happy to have you all with us for the grand opening and to show all our guests this wonderful room which you so generously furnished. Families have already moved into the west wing, and the playroom is fast becoming what it was intended to be – a place of fun, filled with laughter, games and carefree antics. Your generosity brings so much happiness and joy to our guest children and their parents. The sand table with the magnets is getting a particular workout – from “children” of all ages. And, no matter what the weather outside, the palm tree takes all of us immediately into a mental and literal state of play and relaxation.
Your care, compassion and support makes a world of difference in the lives of our guest families. Thank you!
Jenn, Jill, Tracy and all your friends at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati
