Decatur Township used the donation to increase and expand the opportunities for parent and family involvement with the preschool students, especially those with autism. The opportunities included:

  • Parent training and education focused on communication, sensory needs, social skills and behavior with child care and food provided.
  • Providing augmentative communication devices, alternative seating options, sensory equipment and picture schedule materials for use at school and at home with children with developmental delays.
  • Literacy packs for all preschool aged students to check out and take home on a rotating basis.
