**It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED (but not required) that technicians working toward their DD15 certification attend the 2007 Product Update (ILT) class and complete the MBE Electronics web-based module prior to attending the DD15 Instructor-led classes.
Material that will be covered in class includes the following:
- Discuss the training center operation
- Discuss how and when to contact the Customer Support Center
- Demonstrate how to navigate the Power Service Literature
- Discuss the location for design and manufacture of the Heavy Duty Engine Program
- Identify the serial number location and what each part of the number indicates
- Identify the air intake system flow
- Identify the cooling system flow
- Identify the oil system flow
- Understand the engine brake
- Understand the turbocompound system
- Understand the fuel module and high pressure pump

- Understand the cylinder head, injectors, and rocker assemblies
- Understand the camshaft and camshaft gear
- Understand geartrain timing
- Verify camshaft timing
- Understand the idler gears
- Understand the piston, connecting rod, and connecting rod bearing
- Understand the crankshaft and crankshaft gear
- Understand the EGR cooler
- Undersand how to use special tools
- Perform a tune up
